No More PDF Downloads
Let's face it, the drawbacks to PDF schedules far outweigh the benefits. Acrobat
files can get really big; some schedules would take users several minutes to download
over a dial-up connection. Not to mention the added overhead of having to startup
Adobe Acroat to view the schedules. Once a user finally sees the PDF, it may turn
out to be the wrong bus so they have to wait another several minutes to see the
next bus. Screen size can also be an issue. What is meant to look good at 8 1/2
by 11 may not be legible on a user's screen or it may require the user to repeatedly
scroll and zoom to try to make sense of the schedule. Enter Dynamic Schedules...
Interactive Schedules
MyBusStop.com can be configured to display schedules in vertical or horizontal formats,
with or without route maps, and the stops and times listed can be filtered by the
user. And with the Dashboard modules, directors, supervisors
and users will be able to see how well your transit agency has performed.
